An Integrated Shield Plan combines your MediShield Life with additional private insurance coverage offered by private insurers.

Beyond MediShield Life coverage for all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, Integrated Shield Plans provide more options:

• Access to private hospitals and higher ward classes (A or B1) in public hospitals, beyond the B2 or C wards covered by MediShield Life
• Ability to choose your preferred doctors and direct access to specialists without referrals

You can only be covered by one Integrated Shield Plan at a time.

Your private insurer handles the premiums and claims for your Integrated Shield Plan coverage, which consists of two components:

MediShield Life component

• Fully payable from your MediSave

Additional private insurance component

• Payable from MediSave up to the Additional Withdrawal Limit
• Any amount exceeding this limit must be paid in cash
• The Additional Withdrawal Limit is based on your age next birthday
