Use your MediSave funds to pay your MediShield Life/Integrated Shield Plans, ElderShield/CareShield Life and ElderShield/CareShield Life Supplement plan premiums.

Enjoy tax relief

You can enjoy up to $16,000 in tax relief every calendar year when you make cash top-ups to yourself and your loved ones.

Dollar-for-dollar matching grants for seniors

Eligible seniors under the Matched MediSave Scheme can enjoy matching grants from the Government on cash top-ups* received, up to $1,000 per year.

*Cash top-ups that qualify for matching grant will not be eligiible for tax relief.

Before you make a cash top-up

Eligibility

To make MediSave top-ups to yourself or a loved one, you must be

A Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
Aged 16 or older

Top-up limits

The amount of MediSave top-ups one can receive is capped at the Basic Healthcare Sum (BHS). When you make a MediSave top-up online, you will be shown the amount of MediSave top-up you can receive before you reach the top-up limit.

If you are making a top-up to your loved ones, please check with your recipient directly on the amount he can receive.

If you are self-employed

To make top-ups to yourself or a loved one, you must have fully settled or be on a monthly instalment plan for your MediSave payable under the Self-Employed Scheme.

Top-ups allocated to your MediSave Account cannot be used to offset your MediSave payable (if any).

Cash top-ups to MediSave Account are irreversible.

Who you can make a cash top-up to

Yourself and your loved ones

Receive up to $8,000 tax relief when you make a cash top-up to yourself and up to another $8,000 when you make a cash top-up to your loved ones (parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, grandparents-in-law, spouse and siblings) in each calendar year.

If your recipient is eligible for the Matched MediSave Scheme, the top-up amount which attracts the matching grant will not qualify for tax relief.

Tax relief only applies to givers and not recipients.

Any other CPF member (e.g. friends or other relatives)

Build up the CPF savings for the healthcare needs of people you care about by making a cash top up to their MediSave Account.

Top-ups made to others (e.g. friends or other relatives) are not eligible for tax relief.

MediSave top-ups through your employer or platform operator

Employers and platform operators can enjoy dollar-for-dollar tax deductions* by making cash top-ups for you.

As employees and platform workers, you will receive tax relief of up to $8,000 from these cash top-ups, subject to certain conditions.

If you're eligible for the Matched MediSave Scheme, you'll also enjoy matching grants of up to $1,000 per year. Top-up amounts which attract the matching grant won't qualify for tax relief.
