When you are younger, more of your CPF contributions are allocated to your Ordinary Account (OA) to support your housing needs. As you grow older, more of your CPF contributions are allocated to your Special Account or Retirement Account, and MediSave Account, to meet your retirement and healthcare needs respectively. To understand how CPF contributions are allocated across your CPF accounts, please refer to the
details.
If your monthly contributions allocated to your OA decrease, you may have less CPF savings available for your monthly housing loan deductions, especially when you rely on these contributions to service your housing loan. If your available OA savings are insufficient, you will need to plan ahead to pay any instalment shortfall in cash.
It is important to keep track of your CPF savings to ensure you have sufficient funds for your monthly housing loan deductions. You can monitor your CPF contributions and housing deductions in your
Transaction History statement.
