Your CPF contributions are allocated to three CPF accounts: Ordinary Account (OA), Special Account (SA) or Retirement Account (RA) and MediSave Account (MA).
When you are younger, more of your CPF contributions are allocated to your OA to support your home purchase. As you grow older, more CPF contributions are allocated to your SA or RA and MA to meet growing retirement and healthcare needs respectively. You can view the
CPF allocation rates (PDF, 0.1 MB) for details.
When you move to the next age group, the change in allocation rates is applied from the first day of the month after your birthday. This is because on your birthday, you are considered to have just turned the relevant age and remain in your current age group for that month. From the following month onwards, you will move into the next age group and the new allocation rates will apply.
Example:
If you turn 35 years old on 13 January 2026,
- Your allocation rates for January 2026 will be based on the “35 years and below” age group; and
- Your allocation rates for February 2026 will be based on the “Above 35 to 45 years” age group.
