CPF Board has extended Great Eastern Life’s contract as the administrator of the Dependants’ Protection Scheme (DPS) for three years, starting from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2028. Great Eastern Life was awarded the initial five-year contract on 1 October 2020, and began administering the DPS as the single insurer from 1 April 2021.
The DPS is a term-life insurance scheme that provides insured members and their families with a cash payout to get them through the first few years should the insured member meet an untimely death, suffer from terminal illness or total permanent disability. Under the DPS, insured members up to age 60 are covered for a maximum sum assured of $70,000. For members above age 60 and up to age 65, the maximum sum assured is $55,000. Please refer to the Annex for the DPS premium table. Currently, over 2 million Singaporeans and Permanent Residents are covered under the scheme.
No action is required for members with an existing DPS cover. Their covers would continue to be renewed automatically on an annual basis before their 65th birthday, with no change to their premiums.
Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents between age 21 and 65 would be automatically included with DPS coverage upon making a valid CPF working contribution. CPF members between age 16 and 65 who have not been automatically covered can apply directly to Great Eastern Life to join the DPS.
