CPF Board is aware of a series of Facebook posts by user “Sagar Sha Nasim” alleging that a deceased member’s CPF savings were improperly distributed in 1994.

The allegation is false. Where a valid CPF nomination is made, CPF savings are distributed according to the member’s nomination, and not under intestacy or inheritance laws. CPF Board has robust processes to ensure CPF savings are distributed properly in accordance with members’ wishes. These processes include requesting supporting documents to verify the identity of the nominee(s), even where a CPF nomination is made.

In this case, CPF Board had previously informed Mr Sagar that the deceased member had made a CPF nomination and that the CPF savings were distributed to the nominee(s) in accordance with the CPF Act.
