Retirement top-ups for loved ones, employees and others

Top up for your loved ones to help them grow their retirement savings. You can top up their Special or Retirement accounts so they can enjoy higher monthly payouts in retirement and also interest rates of up to 6% per annum. You can even make a top-up for your employee or other members of the community.

Topping up your loved ones’ retirement savings

Boost your loved ones’ retirement savings by topping up to the current Full Retirement Sum (FRS) if they are below 55 or Enhanced Retirement Sum (ERS) if they are 55 or above.

Grow your loved ones’ CPF savings with cash

You can make a cash top-up of any amount to your loved ones. By doing so, you will also benefit from tax relief of up to $8,000 for cash top-ups made to your loved ones in each calendar year.

Under the Matched Retirement Savings Scheme (MRSS), the Government will match every dollar of cash top-ups made to the Retirement Account of eligible members, up to $600 per year.

Transferring CPF savings to your spouse

Before making a transfer to your spouse, you’ll first have to set aside a basic level of retirement savings for your own monthly payouts, that is, the current Basic Retirement Sum (BRS).

Transferring to your parents and grandparents

If you would like to make a transfer to your parents or grandparents, you’ll first have to set aside the FRS for your own monthly payouts. For property owners (with a Singapore property which has a remaining lease which can last you to at least age 95), you can transfer an amount down to the BRS.

Transferring to your parents-in-law, grandparents-in-law and siblings

If you would like to make a transfer to your parents-in-law, grandparents-in-law or siblings, you’ll have to set aside the FRS for your own monthly payouts.

Topping up the CPF savings of your employees or other CPF members

Grow your employee’s savings

When you make a cash top-up on your employee’s behalf to his Special/Retirement Account, you will enjoy an equivalent amount of tax deductions. While such a cash top-up will be included in your employee’s taxable income, your employee will receive tax relief of up to $8,000 for such cash top-ups made in each calendar year.

The tax relief that your employee will receive takes into consideration any cash top-ups that he has made to his Special/Retirement Account, up to the current FRS, and MediSave Account. To make a cash top-up to your employee, please submit a request.

Help grow the savings of people you care about in cash, even if they are not a family member or employee, so they can enjoy higher payouts during retirement.

Note that such top-ups are not eligible for tax relief.
