The Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) is part of the Post-Secondary Education Scheme to help parents save for their children’s post-secondary education. The PSEA is administered by MOE and is opened automatically for all eligible Singaporeans.
Funds in a student’s Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) can be used to pay for their own or their siblings’ approved programmes in MOE's
list of approved institutions.
It can also be used to repay approved financing schemes such as loans under the CPF Education Loan Scheme and MOE Higher Education Student Loan, taken for studies in autonomous universities, polytechnics, ITE (Diploma), and art institutions.
Students can log in to the MOE Student Finance System (SFS) using their Singpass to check their PSEA balance.
Closure of PSEA
The PSEA is aimed at helping Singaporeans to complete their post-secondary education early. Hence, after age 30, the balance is transferred to CPF-Ordinary Account (OA) for other uses. Once transferred to CPF-OA, it cannot be reversed to PSEA and will be subjected to CPF-OA usage rules.
For students who have taken up a CPF Education Loan or MOE Higher Education Student Loan to finance their education, they may consider using PSEA funds to repay the outstanding education loan before the funds are transferred to their CPF-OA.
