What is the MediSave Grant for Newborns?
The MediSave Grant for Newborns (MGN) is a MediSave grant to help parents defray their child’s healthcare expenses, such as MediShield Life premiums, recommended childhood vaccinations, hospitalisation, and approved outpatient treatments.
 
All Singapore Citizen newborns born on or after 26 August 2012 are eligible. Those born on or after 26 August 2012, but before 1 January 2015 are eligible for a grant of $3,000. Those born on or after 1 January 2015, but before 1 April 2025 are eligible for the MGN of $4,000. Those born on or after 1 April 2025 are eligible for the MGN of $5,000.
 
A CPF MediSave account will be opened for each newborn, and the grant will be credited automatically to your newborn's MediSave account within a week from the registration of birth1, or from the date when Singapore Citizenship was granted2.
