What if I do not wish to receive the MediSave Grant for Newborns (MGN)?
The MediSave Grant for Newborns (MGN) and any interest earned on it will be recovered from the child’s CPF account if, within two years of receiving the MGN, the following person(s) notify the CPF Board or the Ministry of Health in writing that they want the MGN to be returned:
  • Where the child is aged below 21 years old: The parent or legal guardian, acting on behalf of the child.
  • Where the child is aged 21 years and above: The child.
Once the CPF Board or the Ministry of Health is notified in this manner, the condition to retain the MGN will no longer be met and the MGN and the interest earned on it will be recovered. For more information on the conditions to receive and retain MGN, please see this page.
