We understand that members may have legitimate urgent transactions even after activating the CPF Safety Switch. Members can call the CPF hotline or make an appointment to visit any CPF Service Centre during operating hours to request to deactivate the CPF Safety Switch. During this process, CPF Board staff will work with the member to verify their identity, understand their situation and provide guidance on safe practices before reactivating access to CPF online services.
Deactivation of the CPF Safety Switch can only be performed by CPF Board staff after the member’s identity has been verified. This ensures that only the genuine account holder can regain access to their account and helps safeguard members' CPF savings from scammers who might otherwise pressure victims to deactivate the CPF Safety Switch.
Do note that after deactivation, you will still need to update your bank account, which will take 12 hours for a PayNow NRIC-linked bank account or two working days for Interbank GIRO.
