What happens if I do not have the Basic Healthcare Sum when I turn age 65?
The Basic Healthcare Sum (BHS) is the estimated savings you need in your MediSave Account (MA) to cover your basic subsidised healthcare expenses in old age and is the maximum amount you can hold in your MA. If your balance is less than the BHS at age 65, you are not required to top up your MA. However, if you wish to build up your healthcare savings, you can choose to top up your MA with cash. You can do so via this form to make cash top-ups to your own or your loved ones’ MA.
