I am the appointed Trusted Contact of someone who has lost their mental capacity. Will my appointment as the Trusted Contact be affected?
If a person who appointed you loses their mental capacity, your appointment as their Trusted Contact will not be affected and remains valid.

A Court-appointed Deputy or Donee appointed under a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) are legally empowered to manage the affairs of your appointer (who has lost his mental capacity). They may remove you as the Trusted Contact if they deem it necessary and you will be informed accordingly. If you wish to remove yourself from the Trusted Contact’s list, you may do so via the Remove yourself from your loved ones’ Trusted Contact list e-form.
