The Basic Healthcare Sum (BHS) for government pensioners differs from that of other CPF members in the same cohort, depending on the coverage of their Post-Retirement Medical Benefits Schemes.
The BHS does not apply to government pensioners under the Fixed Amount on Ward Charges Scheme (FAW). All working contributions allocated to their MediSave Account (MA) and any MediSave top-ups will be transferred to their other CPF accounts.
Pensioners under the Co-payment on Ward Charges Scheme (CPW) have a lower BHS than other CPF members in their cohort. Once this BHS is reached, any working contributions allocated to their MA and any MediSave top-ups will be transferred to their other CPF accounts.
Pensioners under the Comprehensive Co-Payment Scheme (CCS) and MediSave-cum-Subsidised Outpatient (MSO) Scheme will have the same BHS as other CPF members in their cohort.
