Do I need to inform CPF Board the death of a CPF member?
If the deceased person was a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident who passed away in Singapore, the relevant agencies will inform CPF Board of the death so you do not need to do so.
 
If the deceased person was a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident who passed away overseas, you will need to report death to ICA. 
 
If the deceased person was a foreigner with a CPF account, you will have to inform CPF Board of his death.
