Can the Government credit my Platform Workers CPF Transition Support (PCTS) to me via PayNow-Mobile? Why do I need to register my NRIC with PayNow to receive government payments?
We can only credit your Platform Workers CPF Transition Support (PCTS) to you via PayNow-NRIC as NRIC is an unchanged proxy issued by the Government that serves as a unique identifier for each individual. Unlike the NRIC, mobile numbers are not unique to the individual and may be subject to change. To ensure that the money is credited to the correct recipient, we are using NRIC as the proxy for government payments via PayNow.
