If I did not apply to use my CPF savings when buying my HDB flat, can I apply to be exempted from the Home Protection Scheme and use my CPF savings for monthly housing instalments now?

Since this is the first time that you are using your CPF savings for your HDB flat, we will need you to provide further information and documents related to your housing loan, such as details of your financier and outstanding housing loan amount.

Please note that before applying for exemption, you need to apply for Home Protection Scheme first. This is to avoid any delay in commencing the use of your CPF Ordinary Account (OA) savings for your monthly housing instalments.

You will need to submit an application to use your CPF savings for monthly housing instalment and apply for an HPS cover. Thereafter, you may approach your insurer(s) of your private insurance policies to submit your application to be exempted from HPS.

If your HPS exemption application is successful, your existing HPS cover will be terminated. You will get a full premium refund into your (OA) provided that the exemption application is received (by the Board) within one month from the issuance of the HPS cover. Otherwise, a pro-rated refund will be credited to your OA upon the termination of your HPS cover.
