Why can't I withdraw my MediSave if I don't have enough in my other CPF accounts for living expenses in retirement?

Your MediSave savings are meant for your future healthcare needs. These include paying your MediShield Life and ElderShield/CareShield Life insurance premiums, as well as various out-of-pocket hospital bills and outpatient expenses, for yourself and your immediate family members. This is why MediSave savings cannot be used for other retirement expenses besides healthcare. 

If you are facing financial difficulties meeting your non-healthcare needs, you can seek assistance at your nearest Social Service Office.
