How do I apply to withdraw my retirement savings if I have a pension/annuity?

If you have a pension or annuity and want to withdraw your retirement savings, the process will depend on the country you are residing in.

You can make an appointment to visit the CPF Service Centre and bring along:

 

i.  identity card for verification; and

ii. documents of your pension or annuity. You can refer to the table below for the required documents for each type of lifelong income.

Original pension letter bearing the Pension Office’s letterhead, dated within six months, stating:

i. you are receiving a guaranteed monthly pension amount;

ii. the pension is payable for life;

iii. the conditions which the pension may be revoked or terminated; and

iv. amount of guaranteed lifelong monthly pension you are receiving.

Annuity

Original annuity policy(ies) and its terms and conditions bought using cash or CPF monies under CPF Investment Schemes.  The annuity must be issued by MAS-registered providers and satisfy the stringent requirements under the Insurance Act.

 

Upon the approval of your application, we will request the insurance company to include the following endorsement in the policy contract:

 

"Where the Annuitant cancels the policy for cash surrender value, the Company is required to refund to the Annuitant’s CPF account an amount determined by the Board in accordance with the laws in force at the time the refund is required to be made.

 

Where a loan of the cash surrender of the policy is granted to the Annuitant, the Board shall have a first charge on the policy to secure the refund to the Annuitant’s CPF account of an amount determined by the Board in accordance with the laws in force at the time the refund is required to be made. The Company shall not be entitled to use part or all of any annuity payment to repay the outstanding loan."

 

You will need to submit a certified true copy of the endorsement to us. We’ll process your application after receiving the endorsement.

Upon our assessment, please bring along your identity card for verification, the supporting document(s) stated above, and the application form to any of the Singapore Overseas Missions.
