Can I use my CPF savings to pay for the recess area of my HDB flat? If so, how should I go about doing it?

Yes, you can use your CPF savings to pay for the recess area of your HDB flat. The process to apply for this will depend on the type of loan you have taken.

For HDB loan

There are two ways for you to pay for the recess area of your HDB flat.

  1. Submit an online application on HDB’s website with your Singpass. Upon logging in, look under ‘e-Services > Residential > Living in a HDB flat > Application to Purchase Recess Area. Your application will be processed generally within three working days upon the receipt of your request from HDB.

  2. Complete the CPF withdrawal form (PHS9) at HDB Branch. Please note that services at HDB office and Branches are by appointment only. If you wish to visit HDB Branches, you can book an appointment using the e-Appointment system. Your application will be processed generally within three to five working days upon the receipt of your request from HDB.

For bank loan

Please make an appointment to submit your request at any of our service centres. Do note that counter services at CPF Service Centres are available by appointment only.
