Why do I need to declare my health condition when I apply for my Home Protection Scheme cover?

You must fully and truthfully declare your health condition because that is how the mortgage protection insurance works. Your eligibility for an Home Protection Scheme (HPS) cover is subject to approval and you being in good health. This is in line with industry practice where applicants have to truthfully declare their health conditions and may even have to attend medical examination. Any HPS cover issued based on false/ misleading information could be voided at any time, and any insurance claim would be denied. In such a situation, any premiums paid will also not be refunded. To avoid this, all that members have to do is to declare fully and truthfully their health conditions when applying for HPS.
