Why are MediSave withdrawal limits imposed?

MediSave is a national medical savings account to help Singaporeans pay for their hospitalisation expenses, especially in old age. In line with this, MediSave withdrawal limits are set to strike a balance between helping Singaporeans afford the co-payment for their ongoing treatments, and ensuring that they have sufficient savings for their future healthcare needs.
