I am a Singapore Citizen working in India. Do I need to contribute to the India's Employees' Provident Fund (EPF)?
The Singapore Government is aware that Singapore Citizens working in India have been required to contribute to India's Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) and has been negotiating with India's Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to exempt Singapore Citizens from this requirement.

As of 1 January 2016, Singapore Citizens working in India will no longer have to contribute to the EPF. If you have previously contributed to the EPF, you will be able to withdraw your past contributions, but only after your employment contract in India ends.

Please visit Ministry of Trade and Industry website for more information. The relevant forms should be sent to the Certifying Authority (MFA, MTI) for certification. Members can approach MFA or MTI for assistance.

For more information on the India-Singapore Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement or contributions to India's Employment Provident Fund by Singapore Citizens, please contact MTI at MTI_email@mti.gov.sg.
