Why should I authorise specific person(s) to access my CPF account information when I pass away?

Upon your demise, your next-of-kin may want to know how much CPF savings you have accumulated, who you have nominated to receive them and how much.

To protect your privacy, only your nominee(s) will be told the amount they will receive but they will not know how much CPF savings you have in total, nor who else you have nominated to receive your CPF.

This protects your privacy but can sometimes result in unhappiness. To avoid this, you may choose to authorise specific persons to access your CPF account information upon your demise. Without this explicit authorisation, your account information and nomination decisions will not be revealed.
