Skills Development Levy (SDL)

QWhat is Skills Development Levy (SDL)?

Under the Skills Development Levy (SDL) Act, employers are required to pay the levy for every employee they hire. The employee can be permanent, casual, part-time, temporary or foreign employees rendering their services wholly or partly in Singapore.

Currently, CPF Board collects SDL on behalf of the SkillsFuture Singapore Agency (SSG). The SDL collected is channelled to the Skills Development Fund (SDF), which provides grants to employers who send their employees for training under the National Continuing Education Training system.

Both the SDL and SDF are administrated by the SkillsFuture Singapore Agency (SSG). For more information, please visit SSG’s website or call their Call Centre at 6785 5785.
