I overpaid the late payment interest. Must I apply for a refund of the excess amount?

CPF Board will automatically refund the excess late payment interest to you either by Direct Debit (if the bank account that you had previously registered with us is still valid), or by cheque. You will receive a letter informing you of the refund.
