MEDIACORP artiste Joanne Peh has started her investing journey by signing up for a competition organised by the Singapore Exchange (SGX).

StockWhiz is an online real-time investing competition where people can learn to invest with virtual money and stand to win up to $150,000 worth of prizes, based on their portfolio returns.

Through this, participants can also learn about the risks involved when investing as well as the products available.

The competition, which is free and open to the public, runs from Sept 10 to Nov 30. Nearly 5,000 people have signed up for the contest at www.sgx.com/stockwhiz so far. Those who sign up before Sept 10 can get an additional $2,000 in virtual cash in their StockWhiz accounts.
