I would really like to be there for my son when he starts formal education.

Dunno if I should continue working full-time, part-time, work from home, job share or become a freelancer?

Any parents with suggestions?

You must be a hands-on mum! Whatever decision you make, it has to be a happy & sustained one for you.

Hi STY, welcome to our forum. Hope you feel at home here. =)

Hmm interesting that you should mention sustained... that is something to consider in the decision.

Take a 2 or 3 years rest and work part-time, or work from home.
Then go back to your old job after that.
Especially when he ir she is around age 5~21.

I guess it's all about making a decision to focus on family or career. My impression is that going part-time effectively puts a pause on career progression.
