Question Title : Besides stocks, what other products can I trade on SGX?

Q:
Besides stocks, what other products can I trade on SGX?

A:
In addition to equities, you can also trade the following products on SGX:

Company warrants - Company warrants provide the holder with the right, but not the obligation, to subscribe for a given number of ordinary shares in the company at a pre-determined exercise price within a specified time period.

Structured warrants - Structured warrants offer investors exposure to different underlying investments, from single stock to stock indexes. Issued by financial institutions, structured warrants are designed to complement various investment objectives and risk profiles of investors. The availability of such products presents an alternative investment opportunity in addition to conventional choices like shares and bonds.

Real Estate Investment Trusts - A Real Estate Investment Trust ("REIT") raises capital to purchase primarily real estate assets, usually with a view to generating income for unit holders of the fund. It allows individual investors to access real property assets and share the benefits and risks of owning a portfolio of property assets which typically distribute income at regular intervals.

Business Trusts - Business trusts are business enterprises set up as a trust structure, as opposed to a corporate structure. Unlike REITs, business trusts are usually not focused on real estate assets and are suited for businesses with stable growth and cash flow, such as infrastructure or utilities businesses.

Exchange Traded Funds - ETFs are open-ended investment funds designed to track specific indices or fixed baskets of stocks – domestic and international, broad market and sectoral – and provide access to a wide range of asset classes, markets and sectors.

Certificates - Certificates are issuer-led structured financial products that offer investment opportunities based on different market themes and outlooks. Currently, there are two main types of listed certificates – participation and daily lock-in certificates.

Do note that each product comes with its own benefits and risks. It is important to ensure that you understand a product and its accompanying risks before you decide whether to invest in it.   To learn more about various products listed on the SGX, find out more, click here.
