Many of us may worry about the cost of healthcare. However, while we may not be able to control when we need medical attention, we can certainly plan ahead to minimise the out-of-pocket expenditure that we would have to fork.
 
Use our simple checklist to help you consider the various options available to take charge of your healthcare costs.

Checklist

I make/ receive monthly Medisave contributions.

Tip: Contribute to Medisave regularly (especially if you are self-employed).
I am aware of the importance of Medisave, MediShield, and ElderShield.

Tip: Attend the Healthcare talk conducted by CPF Board to find out more. 
I am insured by MediShield and/or an Integrated Shield plan.

Tip: Consider what you can afford and then choose the insurance plan based on your preferred hospital class ward.
I exercise at least three times a week.

Tip: If you lead a healthy lifestyle, you are less likely to seek medical treatment. Start by planning an exercise routine or find an exercise partner.
I keep a balanced and healthy diet.

Tip: Be mindful of what you eat and moderate the intake of fat, sugar and salt.
