My daily working life...
I have an interesting job in the Business Process Architecture (BPA) department. It revolves around meeting the various business units in the Board to guide them in re-engineering their work processes. The objective is to ensure that the Board engages in continual improvement that better serves our customers more effectively and efficiently in the years to come.
I often ask questions to spur the thoughts of business users to think radically, thereby streamlining work processes and weeding out redundancies. The sessions with the business users will also involve a lot of listening as well as discussion to help business users challenge their existing assumptions and see the blind spots in their current work operations.
Through business process re-engineering and setting up of business architecture governance guidelines, our goal is to improve productivity to achieve a synergistic transformation throughout the organisation.
People around me...
Being in a small department, my colleagues and I fully understand and appreciate the importance of having an open working environment. We share almost everything and it is through this strong bonding that we are much like a close-knitted family. Anyone who joins the BPA family will get to experience how we value teamwork.
Making a difference...
Prior to working in BPA, I was previously with the Recovery Department where my primary job duty was to enforce outstanding CPF contributions from defaulting employers. The greatest satisfaction came from successful recovery of CPF contributions for CPF members as this goes a long way in ensuring that they will have a secure retirement.
Not just about work...
My personal experiences and exchanges with friends have made me more appreciative of my supervisors who are also my mentors at work, as well as the Board being my employer. Not only has CPF Board provided its staff with an abundance of different work opportunities to advance and challenge oneself, it is also a strong advocate for an open and trusting culture!
