My daily working life...

Most people might think that working in CPF Board is boring — a typical 9 to 5 deskbound office job. Wrong! It is challenging and exciting and far from boring!

As a Manager in the Housing Schemes Department (HSD), I oversee a team of staff to administer the housing policies. My responsibilities that include processing members' applications, handling correspondence from lawyers, assisting members with their enquiries on the use of CPF for their properties, etc. There are no two workdays that are exactly the same; and every day is a challenge. I get a lot of satisfaction when I overcome these challenges. I have learnt a lot working with the Board. No school can teach you the skills that I have picked up here - delighting customers, successfully negotiating difficult cases, handling multiple projects skilfully etc.

People around me...

Of course, not forgetting my dear colleagues and bosses who make the difference as to why I love my job so much. Hit a stumbling block in your work? Do not fear, because no doors are closed here. Although our work can get pretty hectic at times, such as during periods when the property market was on the upswing, my colleagues and bosses have never turned me away when I asked them for help.

Not just about work...

You have probably heard that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. But hey, don't get the wrong idea that we are dull people in the Board because we are not. We have lots of sports and recreational activities to look forward to. Apart from the annual corporate events such as the Dinner & Dance, Family Day, Staff Seminar, we have Innovation Week, the occasional bazaar, service week, exercise classes, special interest groups like drama, etc. Every Wednesday, we have walks and jogs at East Coast Park (remember to wave to us when you see us walk or run by in our bright yellow tees). Life is never boring with all these activities going on.
